Our Story
Raymond Michael Associates was founded by two partners, Ray Menendez and Mike Gardner, with a common goal - to provide customized and creative solutions to the human capital challenges faced by our clients.
The founding partners began their business relationship 15 years ago at Source Finance, a national staffing firm specializing in the accounting and finance fields. At Source, they developed a consultative approach to the staffing process providing both clients and candidates with a fresh perspective to solving their hiring and career management challenges, respectively. Serving in leadership roles in the NY/NJ markets, they championed new and innovative staffing initiatives, which included successfully managing national search projects entailing multiple hires for Fortune clients, in numerous cities under tight time constraints (a new concept given the firm’s decentralized branch office model). After a successful public offering in the late 90s, Source was acquired by another firm which resulted in a change of priorities and philosophy. Given this change, the founding partners were part of a team that formed the XSOR Group, a specialty staffing firm. After several years building the firm, the XSOR partners realized that an organizational change would allow them to better serve their clients and candidates. To continue their consultative and relationship based approach, the founding partners formed Raymond Michael Associates - a firm which views itself as a business partner to clients and candidates alike, in providing interim, project and permanent placement services in the finance, accounting and information technology areas. Given this customer intimate philosophy, the firm has also co-developed permanent placement and project solutions with organizations in non-core areas such as Business Development, Operations, and Human Resources.
